Police resolve to take out mission against drugs, take out vehicle rally

Jodhpur, 03 December (HS). Police has started Mission Sankalp to make Jodhpur drug free. Under this, a vehicle rally was taken out on Tuesday and the message of de-addiction was given.

According to Deputy Commissioner (West) Rajarshi Raj Verma, Mission Sankalp has been started by the DCP West office. On the first day, on Tuesday morning, a vehicle rally was taken out from the DCP office located at Ashok Udyan. Along with police officers and soldiers, school and college students participated in the rally carrying banners and slogans giving the message of drug addiction. The rally was flagged off by DCP Rajarshi Raj Verma and NCB Regional Zonal President Ghanshyam Soni.

DCP said that under the mission, not only drug peddlers and suppliers will be cracked down on, but there will also be many awareness programs in December to educate the general public and especially the youth to stay away from drugs. This campaign is a holistic effort to root out the increasing drug addiction among the youth in Jodhpur city. In this multidimensional mission, District Jodhpur West Police Commissionerate Jodhpur, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Education Department, Medical and Health Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, Assistant Drug Controller, De-addiction Center, Press Club Jodhpur will play a supporting role.

– A special campaign will be launched for maximum action under the NDPS Act, arrest of wanted criminals and breaking the supply chain of drugs.

– Big suppliers, medium level suppliers and small retail level suppliers like paan/cigarette shops, tea shops, groceries/milk shops etc. will be identified in a planned manner and action will be taken against them.

– A special campaign will be launched for continuous monitoring and prompt action against area domination, drugs sensitive areas and suspicious persons.

– To effectively prevent the sale of banned medicines at shops, action will be taken from time to time in coordination with the Assistant Drug Control Officer.

– Drug supply around educational institutions, commercial areas, restaurants and cafes will be monitored by activating technical and intelligence systems.

– For inspection and operation of de-addiction centres, coordination will be established with the concerned departments and efforts will be made for the rehabilitation of drug addicts by providing them counseling.

-Public awareness campaign will be conducted in which publicity will be spread through rallies, street plays, seminars, marathons and print-electronic media in conjunction with social media.
