Sydney: At 4pm today (SID time), a stabbing and shooting broke out at a six-storey shopping center in Sydney's Bondi Junction Westfield, leaving a total of six people dead, including the knifeman. The dead include a woman and a child.
The name of the person who stabbed has not been known, nor has his motive behind the stabbing been known. As Sydney Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cook said. It was told that further investigation is still going on regarding this incident, but from the preliminary information it has been concluded that the killer was not associated with any gang or group, he committed these murders only on his own. Therefore, there is no fear of other murders taking place after these murders. He further said that as soon as the stabbing started, there was an uproar in the shopping mall. A disaster happened. Customers were hiding wherever they could.
As a result of this stabbing, five people died and many others were also injured. The injured surveyor is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Many of the injured were seriously injured. So even though the number of stabbing deaths is likely to rise, Anthony Cook told reporters.
