Kathmandu, 24 October (Hindustan Reporter). The police custody of Nepal's former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane has been extended for 7 days. Kaski District Court on Thursday ordered to extend the police custody of Ravi Lamichhane. The police custody of Ravi Lamichhane, arrested in the cooperative scam, has been extended for the second time.

Ravi Lamichhane was arrested from the party headquarters in Kathmandu on Friday last week and taken to Pokhara, where he is facing trial in the Suryadarshan Cooperative Bank scam. Ravi Lamichhane was produced in the court last Sunday, from where he was given 6 days police custody. After the custody ended today, the police produced him in Kaski District Court and sought custody. Kaski District Court Judge Chandrakant Paudel ordered to extend the custody of Ravi Lamichhane by seven days.

The court has warned Ravi Lamichhane that if his party does not stop protesting outside the court, then he can be prosecuted separately for this. The judge said that obstructing the judicial process is also a serious crime. Apart from Ravi Lamichhane, the custody of his business partner former DIG Chhavi Lal Joshi has also been extended for 7 days. He was arrested about a month before Ravi's arrest.
