Una, May 20 (Hindus). Haroli police of the district has tightened its grip by taking strict action against the mining mafia. During the action, police seized three tractors and registered a case against 5 people. According to the information, late last night a team of Haroli police was on patrolling under the leadership of station in-charge Sunil. Meanwhile, a JCB and three tractor drivers were seen mining by the police party between Ispur and Ghaluwal in Swan River.
On which the police force formed two separate teams and tried to tighten the noose on the mining mafia. But the driver of the JCB was successful in driving the JCB away due to the flow of water and three tractors were caught by the police after a lot of effort and hard work. The drivers of the three tractors also managed to escape due to the darkness of the night and the presence of water in the river and bushes all around. A vehicle was used to escape the trio, which has been traced by the police and the accused are being arrested soon. The said mining was taking place in the middle of Swan river between Ghaluwal and Ispur. Where for a long time the mining mafia was secretly mining by taking advantage of darkness, river water and bushes at night. Ghaluwal is the border of three police stations of the district near Swan river. According to the police, due to the Swan River being quite open, it is easy for the accused to escape.
The mining mafia keeps its people stationed all around for Reiki. Due to which the mining mafia often succeeds in escaping. Last year also, Haroli police had registered three cases against the mining mafia and also seized many vehicles. There is a stir among the mining mafia due to the registration of these cases. Meanwhile, DSP Mohan Rawat said that he has warned the mining mafia to either stop mining or be prepared for strict action.
