HP Police Constable 2024: The recruitment process has started to fill 1088 police constable posts in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has issued a notification for recruitment to these posts. Out of these 1088 posts, 708 posts have been earmarked for Constable (Male) and 380 posts have been earmarked for Constable (Female). Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the post of constable through the official website of the Commission www.hppsc.hp.gov.in till 31st October.
Physical Examination: During recruitment there will be a physical test consisting of a combination of Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) as per the norms already determined and conducted by Himachal Police. This examination will be conducted by Himachal Pradesh Police. After this the list of qualified candidates will be sent to the Commission along with the marks given for the height of the police candidate.
Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the physical test will get an opportunity to appear in the written examination conducted by the Commission. In the two-hour offline written examination, candidates will have to answer multiple choice questions. This exam of 90 marks will be with negative marking. Meaning, if the question is correct then you will get marks but if the answer is wrong then double marks will be deducted.
Verification of Documents: Candidates successful in physical test and written examination will be called by Himachal Police for verification of documents submitted at the time of application. Shortlisting will be done as per the working rules of the Commission for document verification, candidates will have to provide NCC certificate marks during document verification.
Educational qualification
The candidate will be eligible for recruitment to the post of Constable only if he has passed Matriculation and +2 from any Institute/School/Board located in Himachal Pradesh.

Male candidates of general and non-EWS category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 600. Whereas, SC/ST/OBC/EWS category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 150. Women candidates are exempted from application fee.
Salary
According to Salary Band 3, the salary of Rs 20,200 to Rs 64,000 has been fixed for the candidates selected on these posts.
