Araria 01 August (H.S.). Near the bus stand overbridge of Nagar police station area, local drivers and people protested against the police by blocking the road on Thursday evening. People raised slogans against the police and during this there was chaos in the surrounding area. SP Amit Ranjan also had to face the ire of the people's protest and jam. Later, after listening to the complaints of the protesting people, everyone was assured to go to the police station and register a complaint and action would be taken against the guilty policeman. After which the road was freed from jam.
Actually, there was a jam under the overbridge located at the bus stand and Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Shivpuri locality, was also stuck in the same jam with his pickup vehicle. From behind, the policemen riding in Araria police vehicle number BR38P 5453 were repeatedly asking him to park his vehicle on the side. Meanwhile, the police officers and jawans posted on the police vehicle got down and beat the pickup driver Mukesh Kumar. Due to which his head got cracked with the police baton and blood started flowing. Due to which the people present there got enraged and blocked the road. After which, city station in-charge Manish Kumar Rajak along with other police officers and jawans reached the spot and were trying to pacify the enraged people.
Meanwhile, SP Amit Ranjan also got stuck in the jam. Seeing the SP, people complained about the beating done by the police. On which the SP assured to take action against the culprits if they go to the police station and file a written complaint. After which the anger of the people subsided.
