Complaint filed against Rahul Gandhi

After this incident, BJP alleged that these two MPs were pushed by Rahul Gandhi. On the evening of 19 December, BJP MPs Hemang Joshi, Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj lodged a police complaint in this matter. Based on this complaint, the police registered a case by deleting section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and adding all other sections given in the complaint.
