Bijnor, 20 August (HS)| The police of Sherkot police station of the district tried to stop two persons riding a motorcycle while checking by putting up a barrier at Paramwala bridge. On seeing the police, the motorcycle riders opened fire on the police team with the intention to kill them and started running. In response, the police fired bullets in the legs of both the miscreants, due to which both the miscreants got injured.
During police interrogation, the injured criminals revealed their names as Arif alias Robert son Intezaar resident of Mohalla Nodha town, police station Nahtaur and the other Nadeem son Islamuddin resident of village Hargaon Chandan police station Nagina. White metal jewellery, cash, illegal liquor and the motorcycle used in the incident were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. The injured criminals have been admitted to CHC Dhampur. During police interrogation, the accused told that both of them along with their third partner Naushad son Kamruddin resident of Chhota Kiratpur police station Nagina commit thefts in locked houses at night. The three had committed theft in three locked houses in Sahalipur Neemuch 15 days ago, from where apart from cash, jewellery was also recovered. The accused told the police that our third partner Naushad has the remaining cash and jewellery. The police, while taking action against the arrested accused, has started searching for their third absconding partner Naushad.
