Haridwar, 29 October (Hindustan Reporter). Police on Tuesday arrested five more accused of firing bullets at a mining businessman riding a Thar car in Roorkee area of the district. The police have already arrested the main accused and sent him to jail. Police have recovered pistol, cartridges and bike from the accused.
In fact, on October 20, at Kotwali Roorkee, Ghulam Sabir, son of Tahir Hasan, resident of Shantarshah police station, Bahadrabad, Haridwar, with the intention of killing himself, opened fire near Nagla Imarti underpass when three persons riding on two bikes fired at him and shot a passerby, Waris. A case was filed regarding the injury. The police started searching for the miscreants by collecting statements of eyewitnesses around the incident and other evidence. On October 23, a criminal Nitish Kumar was caught in an encounter with the Bahadrabad police station. While the other three miscreants managed to escape from the spot.
The police was busy searching for the absconding accused. Meanwhile, the police arrested Sudhir and shooter Pritam alias Kallu along with the pistol, cartridges used in the incident and the bike used in the incident. On interrogating the accused, information was received about the involvement of three others in the conspiracy and the involvement of four shooters in the crime including the accused who was injured in the encounter. The police team also arrested three others. Among the arrested accused, Sudhir is the main conspirator, Pritam alias Kallu, resident of village Kuanakheda, Laksar district, Haridwar (shooter), Mursleen, resident of Ikkad Khurd police station, Pathri Haridwar, Hasanujjama and Arif alias Hakam, residents of Landaura town, Mangalore district, Haridwar.
