Chandigarh : After the revelations of Hindenburg, Punjab Congress on Thursday protested against the scam of Adani Group and SEBI chief Madhavi Buch. Congressmen led by state Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring wanted to march towards Raj Bhawan to submit the manifesto but Chandigarh Police used mild force and detained the leaders. All the leaders were brought to Sector 11 police station where they were released late in the evening.

Earlier, Congress leaders staged a sit-in protest outside the party's state headquarters. Addressing the protest, Raja Waring said that the BJP government is responsible for the bad condition of the stock market and the economic loss caused by it.

He said that the fall in the stock market after the BJP's defeat in the elections has caused unprecedented losses to common investors, especially the middle class. The state Congress president said that no action has been taken against Gautam Adani's younger brother Rajesh Adani, who was arrested on charges of fraud and tax evasion, and his elder brother Vinod Adani, who are involved in offshore shell companies. Hindenburg Research has identified 38 such companies owned by Vinod Adani in Mauritius. Many other companies are located in the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Cyprus. These companies are used to create fake development in the Indian market and attract investments from the Indian public. Despite all this, the BJP government has defended Adani and SEBI has given him a clean chit. He demanded a JPC inquiry into the entire matter.
