Sambhal riots: Police have registered seven FIRs in Sambhal riots. A case has been registered against 800 miscreants. Sambhal SP said that CCTVs are being checked to identify the miscreants. Apart from this, drones will also collect photographs of miscreants and appropriate action will be taken against them. Section 163 of BNS (formerly Section 144 of IPC) has been imposed in Sambhal and internet will remain closed on Tuesday also. Apart from this, many policemen have been deployed to restore peace in the violence-hit areas.
Management SP. Of. Bishnoi said that 15 policemen and 4 officers were injured in the violence outside Jama Masjid. The SDM’s leg was broken while trying to save himself from stone pelting, after which he lodged an FIR against 800 miscreants. So far 25 people have been arrested in this case.
Internet will remain closed tomorrow also
After the court order, a committee of SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate), EO (Executive Officer) and CO (Circle Officer) was formed, which was responsible for the survey of the mosque. The committee said that Section 163 is currently in force in Sambhal. However, now the situation is under control. Shops are also opening slowly. However, an appeal has been made to keep the internet closed on Tuesday also.
Police registered a case against SP MP
Earlier, the police had registered a case against SP MP Ziaur Rahman Burke and local MLA’s son Sohail Iqbal. The SP MP is accused of inciting violence in a planned manner, gathering and instigating people. In the whole matter, the SP said, provocative statements were made regarding the survey conducted inside the mosque, after which the crowd became furious and violence started.
4 people died in the violence
So far four people have died in the Sambhal violence. The deceased were identified as Naeem, Bilal Ansari, Nauman and Mohammad Faiq. Nauman and Bilal Ansari were given last rites at 11 pm. A complaint has been lodged with the National Human Rights Commission regarding the violence. A video of a private organization alleging the death of four youths due to police firing in Sambhal has also been sent to the Commission.
Ban on entry of outsiders in Sambhal till December 1
After the violence, the district administration has banned the entry of outsiders in Sambhal till December 1. However, Bhim Army Chief and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad has announced that he will be careful today and will meet the families of the deceased. Azad said, every time at the behest of the government, the police opened fire directly on the unarmed protesters and took their lives.
