POCSO court judge pronounced five years sentence

Sultanpur, July 31 (HS). POCSO court judge Neeraj Kumar Srivastava has sentenced an accused youth of Ambedkar Nagar district to five years of imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of five thousand rupees on him. He had kidnapped a teenager from a village in Gosainganj police station area three years ago.

Special Public Prosecutor Ramesh Chandra Singh said on Wednesday that an FIR was registered in Gosainganj police station on February 14, 2021. According to which a 17-year-old girl had gone to defecate at four o'clock a day before. When she did not return home, a search was conducted. Then it was found that Dheeraj Kanaujia, a resident of Rampur Dubey Dhamaruwa village of Malipur police station of Ambedkar Nagar, had kidnapped her. When he went to his house, Dheeraj's mother and brother said to search for him, I do not know anything. After writing the FIR, the police started investigation, then the girl was found by the police after ten days. The investigator sent the charge sheet to the court under kidnapping and POCSO Act.

Five witnesses were examined by the prosecution and one witness by the defence.
