According to the subsidy given by the government on installation of solar panels in this government scheme which provides 300 units of free electricity, if you want to install 2kW rooftop solar in your house, then according to the calculator available on the website, the total project cost for this will be Rs. 47000. It will cost Rs. But it will get a subsidy of Rs 18000 from the government. In this way, the customer will have to pay Rs 29000 for installing rooftop solar.

According to the rules, there should be 130 square feet space for this. Built at a cost of Rs 47,000, this solar plant will generate 4.32 kilowatt/day of electricity every day, which is 1576 kilowatt/year annually. With this, the customer will save Rs 12.96 daily and Rs 4730 in a year.

If your roof area is 700 square feet then you will have to apply for 3 kilowatt panels and your investment for installing a meter and solar panel of this capacity will be Rs 80,000. At the same time, the amount of subsidy received from the government will increase to Rs 36,000. That means you will have to spend only Rs 50,000 from your pocket for this. The maximum subsidy amount on meters with capacity greater than this is up to Rs 78,000.

This work is necessary to get subsidy

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant must be a resident of India. Along with this, poor and middle income families who have their own house can apply for it. Yes, after installation of the net meter, after verification by the Discom, you will be issued a commissioning certificate from the portal, which will mean that you have now applied under this scheme. But to avail the subsidy you will have to upload a document. After the certificate is issued, the bank account details and canceled check have to be submitted on the portal. After this the subsidy will be sent to your bank account.

The method of installation is very easy

  • First of all go to the official website https://pmsuryagarh.gov.in and select Apply for Rooftop Solar.
  • Now select your state and electricity distribution company name. Then enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.
  • After this, login on the new page by entering the consumer number and mobile. When the form opens, apply for rooftop solar panels as per the guidelines given in it.
  • After completing this process, you will get feasibility approval, after which you will be able to get the plant installed from any vendor registered with your DISCOM.
  • In the next step after solar panel installation you have to apply for net meter along with plant details.
