There is also hope that the long-running war between Russia and Ukraine will end. Ukrainian President Zelensky said that India can play an important role in ending this war.
PM Modi left Kiev on Friday after a seven-hour visit to Ukraine. Meanwhile, he held a “meaningful conversation” with President Volodymyr Zelensky and promised to personally contribute to ending the ongoing war with Russia.

After attending several meetings, PM Modi wrote on the social media platform 'X', “My visit to Ukraine was historic. I have come to this great country with the aim of deepening India-Ukraine friendship. I had a meaningful conversation with President Zelensky.” India firmly believes that peace should always prevail. I thank the government and people of Ukraine for their hospitality.
PM Modi held extensive talks with President Zelensky in Kiev and stressed the need for dialogue to find a solution to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia and said that India is ready to play an active role in all efforts for peace. On 24 February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine. Since then the war between the two countries is going on. Prime Minister Modi reached Kiev by special train on Friday morning.
