PM Modi's photo was removed from the Covid certificate not because of the Covishield controversy but because of the code of conduct – News India Live

PM Modi's photo removed from CoWin certificate: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Union Health Ministry has made important changes in the Covin Certificate for Covid-19 vaccination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo has been removed from the CoWIN certificate. Earlier, Modi's picture was visible on this certificate along with the message of India's collective solution against the serious corona virus. In which the message was, 'Together India defeated Covid-19.'

However, after AstraZeneca admitted the side effects of Covishield, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo has been removed from the CoWin certificate. AstraZeneca admitted in a UK court that Covishield was causing thrombosis in many people with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS). This disease causes blood clotting.

About 250 crore doses of Covishield have been administered in India. After this statement by AstraZeneca, many users felt that Modi's photo has been removed from the certificate. Many users on social media platform X have tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo has been removed from the Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

The matter heated up on Twitter

A user Sandeep Manudhane tweeted, “Modi ji is no longer visible on the Covid vaccine certificate. You download and see, his photo is missing.” Another user Irfan Ali, identified as a Congress functionary, retweeted, “Yes, I have checked that PM Modi is missing from the CoWin certificate, now only a QR code has been replaced by his photo.”

This step was also taken in 2022

Officials of the Ministry of Health and Public Welfare have clarified that due to the Lok Sabha elections, his photograph has been removed from the vaccine certificate under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Modiji's photo has been removed from the Covid vaccination certificates, we have removed his photo earlier also. In 2022, Modiji's photo was removed from vaccination certificates in five states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa. It was mandatory for the Election Commission to take this step during the assembly elections.

A PIL was filed in the Kerala High Court regarding Modi's photograph on the vaccination certificate. In which Judge PV Kunhikrishnan said that the Covid vaccine certificates issued in other countries do not have photographs of the elected leaders there. They are probably not proud of their Prime Minister. But we are proud of our Prime Minister.

Gujarat Congress leaders demand compensation on Covishield

The opposition Congress has accused the BJP government of not following WHO guidelines. It also demands compensation to the families of those who died of heart attacks after taking the Covishield vaccine.
