PM Modi's Patiala visit left security agencies breathless, could not attend the 2022 rally due to protests; Still at risk of resistance

Patiala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to address the first major rally in Punjab during the Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Modi, who reached Punjab before the assembly elections, faced opposition and had to return without attending the rally. Now the security of Modi, who is attending a political rally during the Lok Sabha elections, has also become a challenge for the agencies. On one hand, preparations are being made to welcome the Prime Minister by his supporters, while on the other hand, the outline of the protest march is being prepared by farmer organizations.

There is a possibility of protest against the Prime Minister by farmer organizations. PM's first rally is going to be held in Patiala and farmers are preparing to protest strongly against it. Farmers are continuously protesting against the policies of PM and BJP government and now they are preparing to protest by holding rallies in Punjab. Security arrangements are being tightened in Jalandhar regarding the Prime Minister's visit. Before the Prime Minister's visit, the local police has issued an alert and increased security. All security arrangements are being monitored by DGP Gaurav Yadav. The responsibility of security arrangements for the Prime Minister's Patiala rally has been entrusted to ADGP rank officers. He reached the rally venue today and took stock of the security arrangements. Along with this, the police is also keeping a close watch on the interstate borders of Patiala district.

Prime Minister Modi could not reach the 2022 rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to Punjab to attend a rally before the assembly elections to be held in 2022. The breach in Prime Minister Modi's security took place on January 5, 2022, when Modi was going to Hussainiwala in Firozpur. When the Prime Minister's convoy reached the flyover at Hussainiwala, about 30 km from the National Martyrs Memorial, some protesters blocked the road. Due to the jam by protesters in Ferozepur, Modi's convoy remained stuck on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. After this he returned from Punjab without attending any program including the rally. Let us tell you that in January 2022, Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi was the Chief Minister of Punjab and this incident was seen as a major breach in the security of the Prime Minister. The committee appointed by the Supreme Court to investigate the security breach held several state officials responsible for the security breach. A total of 7 police officers have been suspended for security violations during the Punjab tour.

We will protest against the Prime Minister peacefully: Bahru

National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union, Satnam Singh Bahru said that all the farmers' organizations of Punjab will peacefully protest against the arrival of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Patiala on 23 May. He said that during the farmers' movement, the central government had surrendered in front of the power of the farmers and repealed the three black laws and signed a written agreement with the farmers' organizations on 9 December 2021. Why did they turn their back on it and when thousands of farmers were peacefully going to Delhi on the call of farmers' organizations on 13 February, the Central and Haryana governments oppressed the farmers by putting up huge barriers on Shambhu and Khanuri border, due to which the farmer leader turned minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party are being opposed.
