New Delhi, September 26 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach Pune in Maharashtra today. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate three Param Rudra supercomputers worth about Rs 130 crore developed in the country under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) in line with his commitment to make India self-reliant in the field of supercomputing technology. This information has been given in the press information office (PIB) release of the Government of India. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also shared the Prime Minister's program on X handle.

Pune gets a gift of projects worth Rs 20,900 crore

According to a PIB release, Prime Minister Modi will flag off a metro train from District Court Metro Station to Swargate in Pune at around 6 pm. Half an hour later, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth more than Rs 20,900 crore. The inauguration of the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate will complete the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1). The cost of the underground section between District Court and Swargate is around Rs 1,810 crore.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Swargate-Katraj extension of Pune Metro Phase-1, which is being developed at a cost of about Rs 2,950 crore. This southern extension of about 5.46 km is completely underground. It has three stations – Market Yard, Padmavati and Katraj. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the first girl's school memorial of Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule in Bhidewada.

Pune, Delhi and Kolkata will get supercomputers

Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation three indigenously developed PARAM Rudra Supercomputers worth about Rs. 130 crore under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) in line with the commitment to make India self-reliant in the field of supercomputing technology. These supercomputers have been deployed in Pune, Delhi and Kolkata for cutting edge scientific research. The Giant Meter Radio Telescope (GMRT) in Pune will use supercomputers to detect Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) and other astronomical phenomena. The Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) in Delhi will promote research in areas such as material science and nuclear physics. The SN Bose Centre in Kolkata will promote advanced research in areas such as physics, cosmology and earth sciences.

A gift of climate research system to the country

PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate a high performance computing (HPC) system designed for weather and climate research. This project with an investment of Rs. 850 crore is a significant step forward in India's computational capabilities for meteorological applications. The HPC systems located at two key sites, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) in Pune and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) in Noida have extraordinary computing power. The new HPC systems have been named 'Arka' and 'Arunika', indicating their relation to the Sun. These high-resolution models will significantly enhance the accuracy and lead time of predictions of tropical cyclones, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hailstorms, heat waves, droughts and other important meteorological events.

Will give a big gift to truck drivers

Apart from this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate various initiatives in the petroleum and natural gas sector worth Rs 10,400 crore. These initiatives will focus on energy, infrastructure, safety and convenience of truck and cab drivers, clean mobility and a sustainable future. The Prime Minister will inaugurate side amenities for truck drivers at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, Songadh in Gujarat, Belgaum in Karnataka and Bengaluru Rural to make driving easier. Modern facilities are being developed for a comfortable travel holiday at one place to meet the needs of truck drivers and taxi drivers during their long journey. Facilities like affordable accommodation and food facility, clean toilets, secure parking space, cooking space, WiFi, gym will be available at 1,000 retail shops at a cost of about Rs 2,170 crore.

There will be multiple energy options like Petrol, Diesel, CNG, EV, CBG, Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) at one retail outlet. Prime Minister will launch Energy Stations. Around 4,000 energy stations will be developed on Golden Quadrilateral, East-West and North-South corridors and other major highways in the next five years at a cost of about Rs 6000 crore. Energy Stations will help in providing seamless mobility to the customers through provision of all alternative fuels under one roof. To facilitate smooth transition to green energy, de-carbonization and net zero emission and to reduce range anxiety of electric vehicle drivers, Prime Minister will dedicate 500 EV charging facilities to the nation. Apart from this, a target has been set to develop 10,000 EV Charging Stations (EVCS) by FY 2025 at an estimated cost of Rs 1,500 crore.

Twenty liquefied natural gas stations will be dedicated to the country

The Prime Minister will dedicate 20 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) stations to the nation across the country. Of these, three have been set up in Maharashtra. To promote clean fuels like LNG for long distance transportation, 50 LNG fuel stations will be developed by oil and gas companies in various states of the country at a cost of about Rs 500 crore. The Prime Minister will also dedicate 1500 E20 (20 per cent ethanol blended) petrol retail outlets to the nation, worth about Rs 225 crore.

Airport is ready in Solapur, will inaugurate it

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Solapur Airport. This will greatly improve connectivity and make Solapur more accessible to tourists, business travellers and investors. The current terminal building of Solapur has been renovated to handle around 4 lakh 10 thousand passengers annually.

Bidkin industrial area will be dedicated to the nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation. It is a transformational project spread over 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme of the Government of India. It is located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. Developed under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, this project has immense potential as an economic hub in the Marathwada region. The central government has approved this project with a total cost of over Rs 6,400 crore for development in 3 phases.
