'PM Modi took every step to increase the income of farmers'- said Nirmala Sitharaman

Today is the 11th day of the farmers' movement. Kisan-Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) will take a decision on Delhi march today. After the death of soldier Shubhakaran on 21 February at Khanauri border, farmers had stopped their march to Delhi. Farmers are celebrating Black Day today, meanwhile Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's statement regarding farmers has come out.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Center has formed a 3-member committee of ministers and is talking to the farmers. He said that PM Modi has taken every step to increase the income of farmers and has worked for even the smallest farmers. The price of urea has increased from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 but farmers are still buying it for Rs 300 because the government has taken this responsibility on its shoulders. We are working honestly on farmers' issues.

Let us tell you that farmers across the country are celebrating Black Day on Friday in protest against the death of 21 year old Shubhakaran on the Khanuri border of Punjab-Haryana. This decision was taken after the meeting of United Kisan Morcha that lasted for four and a half hours on Thursday. 100 farmer organizations participated in it. It was agreed to hold a tractor march across the country on 26th and a Mahapanchayat in Delhi on 14th March.

At the same time, Haryana Police has withdrawn its decision to take action against the agitating farmer leaders under the National Security Act (NSA). Ambala Range IG Sibash Kabiraj gave this information on Friday 23 February. Earlier on Thursday, Ambala Police had said that compensation for the damage caused to government property during the protests will be given by the agitating farmer leaders. For this, their properties will be attached and their bank accounts will be confiscated.
