It was started by PM Modi himself by planting a tree. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this campaign by planting a tree in Buddha Jayanti Park. Its objective is to plant trees by running a campaign across the country.
PM Modi started this campaign by planting a sapling in Buddha Jayanti Park at around 10.45 am today. Through this campaign, the Prime Minister has planned to make people aware about planting trees across the country so that increasing global warming can be dealt with. World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June with the aim of making people aware of the importance of environmental protection and sustainable development. It is celebrated in more than 150 countries. For the first time, World Environment Day was started by UNGA on 5 June 1972. Every year this day is celebrated according to the theme. This year's theme is “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience” and this time Saudi Arabia has been made the host country.
