New Delhi, September 17 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Odisha today. He will interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. After this, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth more than Rs 3800 crore in the capital Bhubaneswar. This information has been given by the Press and Information Office (PIB) of the Government of India. The Bharatiya Janata Party has shared the Prime Minister's program on X handle.

According to a Press and Information Bureau release, Prime Minister Modi will launch Odisha government's flagship scheme 'Subhadra' in Bhubaneswar. It is the largest, single woman-centric scheme and is expected to cover over one crore women. Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries in the age group of 21-60 years will get Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 to 2028-29. An amount of Rs 10,000 per year in two equal instalments will be credited directly into the Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account of the beneficiary. On this historic occasion, Prime Minister Modi will launch the transfer of funds into the bank accounts of over 10 lakh women.

The release said that Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of railway projects worth more than Rs 2800 crore in Bhubaneswar and dedicate them to the nation. These rail projects will enhance the railway infrastructure in Odisha and improve development and connectivity in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone of national highway projects worth more than Rs 1000 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the first installment of assistance to about 13 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G from around 14 states. During this event, Griha Pravesh ceremony will be organized for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Rural and Urban) across the country. The Prime Minister will hand over the keys of their houses to PMAY (Rural and Urban) beneficiaries. He will also launch the Aawas+ 2024 App for survey of additional houses for PMAY-G. Apart from this, he will launch the operational guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.
