A very shocking news has come to light regarding the security arrangements of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On May 10, when PM Modi was on a visit to Bengaluru, there was a stir when explosives were found near the place of his public meeting. Following strict orders from the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bengaluru South (Ramanagar), six policemen found guilty in this case have been punished and they have been suspended with immediate effect. The department has made it clear that until the complete investigation of this matter is completed, all these policemen will remain suspended.

This entire incident took place on May 10, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to arrive on the outskirts of Bengaluru to address an election rally. During the security check just before the PM’s arrival, two active gelatin sticks (explosives) were recovered from near the route. The most surprising thing was that the place where this gunpowder was found was just 3 kilometers away from the venue of the Prime Minister’s program. As soon as the news of explosives being found on the VVIP route spread, there was panic in the entire police department and security agencies. Soon after, considering the sensitivity of the matter, an internal inquiry was ordered.
These policemen were punished and an internal inquiry was conducted.
After the initial investigation report of this high-profile case came, the police administration showed promptness and suspended the careless on-duty employees. The six policemen against whom this strict action has been taken include a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and four police constables handling the security arrangements. All of them are facing serious allegations of not properly following the security protocols of the Prime Minister and being negligent in patrolling.

The BJP state president had stressed in his statement that even an iota of playing with the security of the country’s most respected leader and Prime Minister cannot be tolerated. He had demanded from the state government that this sensitive matter should not be suppressed considering it as a mere mistake, but the anti-national forces or miscreants working behind it should be immediately identified. He said that the conspirators should be exposed and sent behind the bars and such action should be taken against the officers on duty who had turned a blind eye which would set an example. After this pressure and internal investigation, the police department has now taken this first major action.
