PM Modi received a grand welcome in Doha, a Muslim country colored in the colors of India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Qatar on Thursday on his official visit after visiting the United Arab Emirates. The Prime Minister was formally welcomed upon reaching the capital Doha. Prime Minister Modi met Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. PM Modi updated his journey on his X handle and tweeted, 'I have reached Doha. I look forward to a fruitful visit to Qatar, which will further deepen India-Qatar friendship.

PM Modi reached Qatar's capital Doha on Wednesday night after inaugurating the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi and holding several bilateral meetings with key leaders. On Thursday, PM Modi was formally welcomed and held a bilateral meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Prime Minister Modi's meeting with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was also attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.

After the meeting, PM Modi wrote on X, 'Wonderful meeting with PM @MBA_AlThani_. Our discussions revolved around ways to take India-Qatar friendship forward. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during the meeting the two leaders exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, finance and technology.

This special visit of the Prime Minister is taking place after India's diplomatic victory with Qatar. Doha on Monday released eight Indian Navy veterans on death row in Qatar on espionage charges.

Prime Minister Modi also attended a dinner hosted in his honor by the Prime Minister of Qatar. “Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on Wednesday met Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, who is visiting the country,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

India's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir said that 'Taking forward the India-Qatar partnership! Prime Minister Narendra Modi received MBA degree from His Excellency of Qatar in Doha. Had a fruitful meeting with Althani, Prime Minister and Finance Minister. There was discussion on increasing bilateral cooperation in areas like trade and investment, energy, finance.
