PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 112 national highway projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore across the country in a program organized in Gurugram on Monday. On this occasion, PM Modi said that the India of the twenty-first century is an India of big vision, an India of big goals. Today's India cannot agree with the race of progress. I cannot think small, nor do I dream small – whatever I want, I want it big, I want it soon. PM Modi said that earlier governments used to make small plans and run small show programs for five years, whereas the speed with which the BJP government works reduces the days and time for laying the foundation stone and inauguration.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway. This will help ease traffic on Highway 48 between Delhi and Gurugram. The project includes 540 km extension of Amritsar Bhatinda Jamnagar Corridor and development of Bengaluru Ring Road. Other major projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister include the 9.6 km long six-lane Urban Area Road-2 (UER-2) – Package 3 from Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka stretch in Delhi. In Uttar Pradesh approximately Rs. Three packages of Lucknow Ring Road have been developed at a cost of Rs 4,600 crore. In Andhra Pradesh approximately Rs. Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Ankapalli section of NH16 has been developed at a cost of Rs 2,950 crore. The cost of Kiratpur to Nerchok section (2 packages) of National Highway-21 in Himachal Pradesh is approximately Rs. 3,400 crores; In Karnataka Rs. Dobaspet – Hescot section (two packages) as well as Rs 2,750 crore in various states across the country. There are 42 other projects worth Rs 20,500 crore.
People were reluctant to come here after dusk
On the occasion of inauguration of Dwarka Expressway, PM Modi said that there was a time when people used to hesitate in coming here after dusk. The taxi driver also refused. This area was considered unsafe. But today many big companies are coming here and setting up projects. This area is becoming one of the fastest growing areas in NCR.
Allocation of approximately Rs 10 thousand crores to self-help groups
On Monday, PM Modi was present at the Empowered Women Developed India program at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi. NaMo Drone Didi from 10 different parts of the country participated. Under this program the Prime Minister distributed 1,000 drones to Namo Didi. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also honored successful millionaire didis with the help of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission. About Rs 10 thousand crores were also allocated to self-help groups. The government plans to provide drones to 15,000 self-help groups in the country.
