Who can invest
Any Indian citizen can invest in this scheme. Joint account facility is also available. Two to three people can open a joint account. Parents or guardian can invest in the name of minor, children above 10 years can buy NSC in their name. You can open more than one account at a time. A minimum investment in NSC can be made from Rs 1000 and there is no limit on maximum investment. That means you can invest as much as you want. Tax benefit is also available in this scheme under 80C.

PM in this scheme
Narendra Modi has invested Rs 9,12,000. If you also invest this amount, then according to the current interest rate, you can get Rs 4,09,519 from interest in just 5 years. In this way you will get a total of Rs 13,21,519 on maturity. If you invest Rs 9 lakh, you will get Rs 4,04,130 as interest and Rs 13,04,130 will be your maturity amount.

How much return on investment of Rs 1 lakh to 5 lakh?
On investment of Rs 1,00,000, interest will be Rs 44,903 and maturity amount will be Rs 1,44,903.
