PM Modi's visit to Wayanad: More than 400 people were killed and hundreds injured in the landslide that occurred in Wayanad, Kerala on July 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kerala on Saturday morning and reviewed the relief and rehabilitation efforts after conducting an aerial survey of the landslide-affected areas. Apart from this, the PM also visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also present with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the aerial survey. After this, the Prime Minister also visited the relief camps where the landslide-affected people are currently living and talked to the affected people and learned about their problems. PM Modi is also scheduled to visit the landslide-affected villages on the ground in the afternoon. Here he will take information about the ongoing evacuation operation from the rescue team.
The Prime Minister will then chair a meeting to review the causes of the entire incident and the steps taken by the system since then. Wayanad Landslide:
On July 30, a massive landslide occurred in Churamala and Mundakkai in Wayanad. The landslide caused massive destruction in the hilly areas. More than 400 people have lost their lives in the landslide, while 150 people are still missing. The CM said that the final number of dead will be confirmed after DNA testing of the bodies.
