Prime Minister After the decision to extend the Awas Yojana Gramin till the year 2028-29, the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has decided to conduct a survey again to identify eligible people deprived of housing in rural areas. The dates of the survey will be announced by the Ministry soon.
In this survey, many marking criteria have been revised. All homeless families, families living in one or two room houses with kutcha walls and kutcha roof will be eligible for housing. Homeless families, destitute, beggars, scavengers, primitive tribal groups and legally freed bonded labourers will be eligible for housing.
No eligible person should be left out in the survey: Keshav Maurya
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has instructed all the officials to conduct the upcoming survey in Uttar Pradesh in a correct and transparent manner. Instructions have been given that during the survey it should be ensured that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of being included in the list. There should not be any kind of negligence in the survey work. Even before receiving the date of the survey from the Government of India, Rural Development Commissioner GS Priyadarshi has issued guidelines to all the District Magistrates for necessary preparations.
Loan is available from bank
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, people are given houses by giving them loans. Applications are invited for housing from homeless families living as tenants. Beneficiaries have to participate in the lottery by depositing 10 percent contribution amount to get a house allotted in their name. Some documents are required to take a loan from the bank.
