On the second day of the 63rd National Open Athletics Championship held from 30 August to 02 September 2024 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the players of MP State Sports Academy won a total of 3 medals including one gold and two silver on Saturday. So far in the competition, the players of the academy have won 4 medals including one gold and three silver.

On the second day of the competition on Saturday, MP State Sports Academy's athletics player Ritesh Ohare gave a brilliant performance in athletics in the 1500 meter men's event and won the gold with a timing of 3 minutes 47.41 seconds. At the same time, the sports academy's player Diksha also gave a good performance and won the silver medal with a timing of 4 minutes 25.91 seconds. Apart from this, the academy's player Anshu Patel won the silver medal by jumping 5.00 m in the pole vault event. In the shot put event of the same competition, sports academy player Samardeep Gill has entered the final match by throwing a long shot put of 18.32 m. While praising the sports performance of the sports academy medal winning players, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang has congratulated them.
