Player draft for Lanka T10 Super League on 10th November

Colombo, 29 October (Hindustan Reporter). The player draft for the inaugural edition of the Lanka T10 Super League will take place in Colombo on November 10, 2024. This tournament will be organized from 12 to 22 December, in which six franchise teams will participate. Local and international players will participate in the fastest format of cricket. Each franchise will select a maximum of 17 players and a minimum of 15 players for its team.

The player registration deadline ends on November 1 and the player signing deadline ends on November 5. Each franchise is allowed to directly contract six players from each category—one icon player, one platinum player, one Category A player from Sri Lanka, and one foreign player, similarly from Category B, one local and one foreign player.

The draft will have 11 rounds, the first round will be decided by manual draw and the remaining rounds will be determined by a randomizer for the pick order.

In the first two rounds, two top-tier players – a Sri Lankan and a foreigner – will be selected, each worth US$35,000 (Category 'A'). 2 more players, a Sri Lankan and a foreigner, will be selected in the third and fourth rounds at US$20,000 each (Category 'B').

In Rounds 5 to 7, franchises can select two Sri Lankan players and one foreign player, each valued at US$10,000 (Category 'C').

Round 8 will focus on selecting a Sri Lankan emerging player for US$2,500, while Round 9 will focus on selecting an emerging player from Zimbabwe or West Indies (US$2,500).
