Jagdalpur, June 5 (HS). On the occasion of World Environment Day, a nutrition garden was constructed at Saksham Anganwadi Center Guchaguda of Keshlur Gram Panchayat of Aspirational Block Tokapal of Bastar district. In this nutrition garden, mainly medicinal plants, fruit plants, and green vegetable plants were planted with community participation.
Along with this, detailed information on environmental protection and water conservation was provided at the community level. Also, the Anganwadi workers and assistants who came from Keshlur sector were given complete information on setting up a nutrition garden.
Through this program, the objective of Women and Child Development was to completely construct the nutrition garden of all the Anganwadis as well as plant new saplings and take care of them. Through which the beneficiaries coming to the Anganwadis can be given nutritious food consisting of fruits and vegetables produced from the nutrition garden. This was started from Keshlur Gram Panchayat and it was said to continue this work continuously.
Special support in this program was received from R.S. Bagdi, Garden Superintendent, Horticulture Department. Program Leader Yogesh Kumar and Sejal Shukla from Piramal Foundation, Panchayat Sarpanch Nakul Maurya, Sector Supervisor Shefali Rao, Anganwadi workers, assistants, and villagers were also present.
