The Azerbaijan plane crash could further escalate tensions between Ukraine and its ally Russia. Now the question is, is this tragedy the result of a bird strike or some other hidden front of the Russia-Ukraine war?
A new front has opened in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine alleges that Russia was behind the crash landing in Kazakhstan of a plane going from Azerbaijan to Russia on Christmas Day. Ukrainian media is claiming that on Christmas Day, Ukraine carried out drone strikes in Chechnya, to stop which Russia used air defense missiles and these missiles damaged an Azerbaijani aircraft and eventually crashed.
The pilot of the plane going from Baku in Azerbaijan to Chechnya in Russia said that a flock of birds came in front of the plane. It is believed that due to the collision of the plane with a flock of birds, there was heavy damage to the engine and other parts of the plane and in view of this the pilot decided to make an emergency landing. The plane kept hovering in the western areas of Kazakhstan for a long time. The plane crashed during landing at Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan. But the question is, whether what the pilots thought was a flock of birds were actually a large number of drones?
Plane crash video and investigative analysis
Video footage and preliminary investigation did not reveal that there was any external attack on the plane. Experts say the pilot’s report and evidence from the crash site show the plane suffered no major external damage and did not catch fire before landing. There is a possibility that the plane may have caught fire or some part of the plane may have been damaged after the missile or drone attack, although nothing like this is visible in the video.
Sudden arrival of flocks of birds or damage to planes is nothing new. According to preliminary investigative reports by Russian or Kazakh authorities, the plane crashed due to a technical fault. However, Ukrainian officials described it as Russian propaganda and called for an investigation. According to him, to hide the blame for this incident, Russia is making the excuse of a flock of birds colliding with an Azerbaijan plane.
History of old plane crashes related to Donbass
This is not the first time that a plane crash during the Russia-Ukraine war has sparked political controversy. In 2014, Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a missile fired by rebels in Donbass. 298 people died in this accident. The case was heard in the Netherlands for several years and Russia was held responsible for the incident internationally.
New controversy, new tension
The Azerbaijan plane crash could further escalate tensions between Ukraine and its ally Russia. This incident has put another question mark on regional stability and diplomatic relations. Now the question is, is this tragedy the result of bird collision or some other hidden front of the Russia-Ukraine war?
