Pickup driver was crushed by another pickup van, protest by blocking the road for two and a half hours

Palamu, June 22 (HS). In Joda village of Satbarwa police station area of ​​the district, the driver, 32 year old Virendra Prasad, who was stopping his pickup van to drop off businessmen, was crushed by another pickup vehicle coming from behind, resulting in his painful death. After the incident, the police chased and seized the pickup vehicle which was fleeing from the scene. The driver was taken into custody and brought to the police station. On Saturday, the postmortem of the driver's dead body was conducted at MRMCH. The incident occurred at 9 pm on Friday night.

After the postmortem, the villagers blocked NH 39 near Dulsulma on Ranchi Road. During the reading inspection in Satbarwa zone, Deputy Commissioner Palamu Shashi Ranjan came to know about the blockade. He sent the zone officer Krishna Murari Tirki to the blockade site. Apart from CO, police station in-charge Anchit Kumar, state BJP general secretary Manoj Singh got the blockade cleared after two and a half hours.

During this time, there was a two kilometer long queue of small and big vehicles on both sides. CO told that the jam was cleared after giving written assurances about Parivarik Labh Yojana and other schemes. Women were quite agitated during the jam. They also leveled many serious allegations of taking money in schemes and other such allegations against officers and public representatives. The deceased youth was a resident of Ranchi Road village Dulsulma. His wife is the cluster president in JSLPS.

It is said that after visiting Manika market in Latehar, the driver Virendra Prasad (32) s/o Raja Sahu stopped his pickup van at Joda village on Ranchi Road NH 39 and was unloading the businessmen. During this period, another pickup van coming from behind crushed him, due to which the driver got stuck between the axle of the pickup van and the chassis of the van coming from behind. After the impact, the van went out of control and fell down the slope for about 20 metres. The youth sitting next to the driver controlled the steering of the vehicle and stopped the vehicle by applying brakes.

Injured Virendra was taken to Tumbagada Navjeevan Hospital. He died after being treated on ventilator for 4 hours.

During this, after hitting from behind, the driver fled towards Daltonganj with the pickup van, but the police chased and caught the driver and seized the van.
