Ahmedabad, August 14 (HS). The Ahmedabad division of Western Railway celebrated “Partition Horrors Memorial Day” on Wednesday in memory of the struggle and sacrifice of the people. In this context, a photo exhibition was organized at Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Maninagar, Kalol, Mahesana, Palanpur, Gandhidham, Himmatnagar and Radhanpur stations of Ahmedabad division.
According to Divisional Railway Spokesperson Jitendra Kumar Jayanti, 14th August (Partition Horrors Memorial Day) is being celebrated in memory of the struggle and sacrifice of those people of the country who lost their lives due to hatred and violence. Photo exhibitions have been organized at Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Maninagar, Kalol, Mahesana, Palanpur, Gandhidham, Himmatnagar and Radhanpur stations of the division. The photo exhibition displays indelible facts of history to highlight the heart-wrenching pain and anguish of millions of citizens who endured it at the time of partition of the country. This exhibition reminds of the largest displacement of human population in the last century, in which a large number of people lost their lives. On 14th August 2024, the families of local freedom fighters were invited to the Partition Horrors Exhibition program and were welcomed and honored by the Ahmedabad Railway Division.
Along with this, “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is being run on the division from 9 to 15 August 2024, which aims to instill the spirit of patriotism in the minds of the people and is being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the spirit of public participation. We get new energy from the national flag tricolor. Participation of railway personnel, their families and the general public is being ensured in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. People are being made aware of this through announcements at the stations.
