Phone conversation between Biden and Xi Jinping: Discussion on many issues including Taiwan

Washington: There was a phone conversation between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. In this, both the leaders discussed improving mutual relations and removing the growing tension between the two. This was the first conversation between the two leaders after the summit held in California in November last year. Apart from improving mutual relations, artificial intelligence and defense issues were also discussed.

Additionally, the painkiller Fentanyl manufactured in China is also addictive. Therefore, Baid was requested to stop its flow also.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Allen is scheduled to visit China on Thursday. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is also scheduled to visit China in the next weeks.

It is natural that Taiwan will be discussed between the two leaders. Biden reiterated his longstanding acceptance of one China, but made clear that he opposes the forced annexation of Taiwan into China.

It is noteworthy that Biden is scheduled to hold summit talks with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House next week. Its main agenda will be China's increasing dominance in that area.

During that conversation, Biden also asked China to fulfill its promise to stop drug exports from his country. Also requested the release of American citizens detained in China.

Observers say that surveys show that the two are about to collide. Waiting is only a matter of time.
