Manila: China has accused the Philippines of deliberately colliding with a Chinese coast guard ship on Monday morning. A spokesperson on the Chinese Coast Guard WAG website said that two Philippine coast guard ships entered the Sabina Shoal (continental shelf) and approached it at 3.24 a.m. today (Monday) despite the warning of the Chinese coast guard ship.

On this action of Philippines, Chinese spokesperson Gan Yu said that Philippines should stop such provocative actions or else it should be ready to face the consequences.

Along with this, Gan also claimed China's undisputed sovereignty over the entire South China Sea. Along with this, China also claimed its sovereignty over the Spratly Islands, which China calls the Nansha Islands. In this, he openly said that he has unlimited sovereignty over Sabina Shoal and the surrounding area. China calls this continental shelf (shoal) Xi'an Biji Reef.

Speaking further on this, Gan said that earlier a Filipino ship had also tried to enter the area of Second Thomas Shoal, but it was driven away. China has always followed the laws and regulations regarding the sea.

China's claim to the entire South China Sea is naturally opposed by all countries touching the coast of that sea, including Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia.

The dispute between China and the Philippines has been getting serious since last year. China first extended a hand of friendship towards the Philippines and signed several trade agreements with the Philippines. It was hoped that there would be peace in that region. But now the water in the Pacific Ocean has also dried up. Sabina Shoal is becoming a new flash point.
