Manila: The Philippines' president boldly signaled on Thursday that the Chinese coast guard and its potential militia ships are ready to retaliate against a desperate attack in the disputed South China Sea, saying Filipinos will not be pressured but will be retaliated against.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos (Jr.) did not say what action he would take. But said that in the coming weeks, sensible and rational steps should be taken against China's aggressive and desperate policy of blatant illegal bullying.

He wrote on X, We do not want conflict with any country. But we cannot be made dumb by fear.

These statements of Marcos reflect one end of the ongoing war of words between the two countries over the water dispute. And it has created water disputes not only with the Philippines but also with Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Burma. A huge amount of world trade takes place through this water area. However, it has to be transported through this water area only by waterways.

It is noteworthy that this warning to China was given by Ferdinand Marcos (Xu), who is a Catholic, during the Holy Week of Christians. During these Easter holidays, which are considered very holy for Christians, Mark's warning has received heed.

On the other hand, China's Defense Ministry has described Macron's statements regarding this controversy as spreading misinformation and misleading the international community.
