Petition in High Court demanding to fill the vacant posts of Assistant Statistical Officer

Prayagraj, July 31 (HS). The Allahabad High Court has sought a reply from the state government and the commission within three weeks on a petition seeking appointment to the vacant posts during the Subordinate Services Selection Commission's 621 Assistant Statistical Officer recruitment.

This order has been passed by Justice JJ Munir on the petition of Deepak Kumar and 7 others. The petitioner says that in the recruitment advertisement of 2019, 346 seats are reserved for general, 60 for scheduled caste, 21 for tribes and 193 for OBC. The eligibility for which is O level diploma. The petitioners have also applied. 2248 candidates were called for document verification. The posts were filled through horizontal reservation but 27 posts are still vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates. Demand has been made for appointment in reserved quota on these seats.

The court has also ordered the Registrar Compliance to send a copy of the order to the Secretary Economics Statistics Division State Planning Institute Lucknow, Director Family Welfare Department Lucknow and the Commission. The next hearing of the petition will be on August 27.
