Permission to interrogate Abu Jundal to identify 26/11 attackers

Mumbai: A special court has allowed the Mumbai Police to take help of attack handler Manata Syed Zaibuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal to trace the terrorists involved in the conspiracy of 26/11 terror attacks.

Jundal has been in custody since his arrest in 2012. The judge said the superintendent of Taloja Central Jail has permitted the interrogation from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm, allowing officers to meet Jundal and record his statement in the presence of jail officials. Officers are allowed to carry laptops and other digital devices in jails.

In 2016, a special court sentenced 12 people, including Jundal, to life imprisonment. There was a case against him in the Aurangabad arms recovery case.

Jundal was taken into custody by the Delhi Police after he was deported from Saudi Arabia. The Crime Branch had detained him in connection with the 26 November attack case, he is suspected to be the handler of 10 terrorists involved in the attack.
