There is a very wonderful and relieving news for the residents of Delhi-NCR, especially Rajnagar Extension of Ghaziabad and lakhs of drivers passing through this route. Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is working on a mega plan to free the entire area from traffic jams forever. GDA is preparing to start the construction work of 45 meter wide Outer Ring Road on the ground from next month. The tender process for this has been officially started. With the construction of this Outer Ring Road, which will be built at a huge cost of about Rs 90.91 crore, the journey between Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad will become very easy and fast.
A population of 2 lakh will get relief from the hellish traffic jams every day.
At present, there are more than 60 large residential societies within Rajnagar Extension, in which more than 2 lakh people reside. The biggest problem of this entire VIP area is that there is only one main road for commuting here, which connects Delhi-Meerut Road through elevated road via GT Road. There is maximum pressure of vehicles on this only route because all the vehicles going from Ghaziabad, Muradnagar and Modinagar to Hindon Air Force Station or Delhi-Noida via elevated road pass through this narrow route. Due to this, there is a huge traffic jam several kilometers long during morning and evening peak hours. To end this headache forever, GDA has expedited work on this new bypass option.
Outer Ring Road will be 5.8 km long, lights worth ₹15 crore will sparkle
According to senior GDA officials, this new Outer Ring Road will be about 5.8 kilometers long and very modern. After its complete operation, vehicles will be able to move directly towards NPR (Norman Peripheral Road) from the City Forest without any intersection or hindrance. On this Outer Ring Road, wide service lanes will also be built on both sides along with the main highway. Apart from this, strong dividers and state-of-the-art sewer system will be constructed to prevent waterlogging. To make the road beautiful and safe at night, a separate budget of Rs 15 crore will be passed and fancy and modern street lights will be installed here.
Haranandipuram, Aerocity and International Cricket Stadium will get direct connection
The biggest logistics benefit of this new Outer Ring Road is going to be given to the upcoming big and ambitious township plans of GDA. This route will directly connect Haranandipuram and Aerocity Township as well as the proposed International Cricket Stadium in Ghaziabad. Passing through the boundaries of all these big projects, this road will directly meet NPR. The result will be that heavy or light vehicles going from Delhi towards Muradnagar and Modinagar will be able to come directly to Delhi-Meerut road using this bypass route without getting stuck in the internal traffic jam of the main city.
GDA Vice President Nand Kishore Kalal said that the administrative process of the Outer Ring Road project in Rajnagar Extension has been speeded up by keeping it on priority. A tender has been floated for this. As soon as the agency is finalized and the legal process of tender is completed, the construction work will be started on the spot.
Construction of ‘Ram Setu Dwar’ started on elevated road
Along with this big project of Outer Ring Road, a big and beautiful update has also come out regarding the elevated road which has become the lifeline and identity of Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has started the work of building a grand ‘Ram Setu Dwar’ (Welcome Gate) on a war footing at the beginning of this elevated road, which has now become famous by the name of ‘Ram Setu’.
The Municipal Corporation has erected a strong iron and concrete structure of the gate near NH-9 from where the elevated road starts. Chief Engineer of the Corporation’s Construction Department, N.K. Chaudhary said that the work of making this attractive gate will be completely completed within the next two to three months. Let us tell you that this elevated road built by GDA has now been completely transferred to the Municipal Corporation for maintenance, after which the Corporation is busy in improving its special repair, beautification, cleanliness and lighting system.
