Prayagraj, 03 March (HS). Peppery Avengers defeated Bajrang Phoenix by 11 runs and captured the title of Prayagraj Sindhi Premier League. Chief guest Hargun Das, a senior member of Sindhi community, presented a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 51,000 to the winning team and Rs 21,000 to the runner-up.
In the final match played on Sunday at Lukarganj ground, Peppery Avengers scored 53 runs for five wickets in 5 overs (Vipin Khatri 23 not out, Karan Kukreja 2-13) and Bajrang Phoenix scored 42 runs for four wickets in 5 overs (Jay Wadhwani 17, Shailendra Wadhwani 12 not out, Vivek Madhyan 2-15, Vipin Khatri 1-02, Animesh Lakhwani 1-09). Vipin Khatri was chosen man of the match.
Earlier in the first semi-final, Bajrang Phoenix defeated SPVRN by 11 runs. Bajrang Phoenix scored 48 runs for one wicket (Jay Wadhwani 26 not out) in 5 overs and restricted SPVRN to 37 runs (Rishu Chandni 13, Karan Kukreja 3-16, Shailendra Wadhwani 1-05) in 5 overs.
In the other semi-final, Pipri Avengers defeated Bhelari Gliders by 10 wickets. Bhelari Gliders scored 43 runs in 5 overs (Tanmay Ahuja 09, Mohnish Madnani 2-11, Vipin Khatri 1-09). In reply, Peppery Avengers scored 48 runs (Mohanish Madnani 33 not out, Animesh Lakhwani 11 not out) in 2.5 overs without losing any wicket. Khurshid Ahmed and Mohammad Nabi umpired and Suraj Bhartiya did the scoring in all three matches.
Ketan Dhanwani was chosen as the best batsman, Vivek Madhyan was chosen as the best bowler and Jai Wadhwani was chosen as the man of the tournament. Rishi Keshwani, Manoj Basantani, Tushar Ahuja welcomed the guests, Pratik Ailani gave vote of thanks and Nikhil Malang conducted the function.
