Stroke occurs when there is poor blood circulation in the brain or internal bleeding occurs. In this, brain cells begin to break down or die, which can lead to permanent brain damage, chronic paralysis, and death. The likelihood of having a stroke depends on many factors such as medical problems, family history, lifestyle. Blood type is also a risk factor.
A recent study conducted by the University of Maryland School of Medicine showed that people with certain blood groups have a higher risk of brain stroke than other blood groups.
study findings
This study published in the journal Neurology found that people with blood group A have the highest risk of brain stroke. In fact, these people are more likely to develop blood clots, which is a major cause of brain stroke. Additionally, health problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes are also common in this group of people, which further increases the risk of stroke.
Study conducted on 6 lakh people
Researchers collected data from 6 lakh people, which included people of different ages, genders and health conditions. They were then placed in different categories based on blood group and their medical history was studied. As a result, it was found that the number of stroke cases in people with blood group A is higher than in other groups.
expert opinion
Experts of the study say that it is not certain that people with A blood group will definitely have a stroke, but after the age of 60, they are more likely to have a stroke than others. At the same time, people with O blood group have less risk of stroke.
