Chandigarh: Ramgarhia community today protested against Aam Aadmi Party candidate Laljit Singh Bhullar from Khadoor Sahib outside Ramgarhia Bhawan in Sector 27.
Under the leadership of Ramgarhia Sabha President Harcharan Singh Ranaut, people of the community staged a unique protest and demanded the resignation of Bhullar.
On this occasion, the protesters said that Punjab Government Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has used derogatory language against Ramgarhia and Sunyara community during a public program. Such language is going to divide the society. The Ramgarhia community is deeply saddened by Bhullar's comments. This is a violation of the right to equality. Former minister Malkit Singh Birmi was also present on this occasion.
He said that Bhullar should be immediately arrested for violating the standard election code of conduct. It should be noted that on the basis of the complaint, Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Tarn Taran has submitted his report against Bhullar to the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab.
It is noteworthy that Laljit Bhullar, while speaking against former Congress minister Harminder Singh Gill during a program yesterday, had made public remarks against Ramgarhia and Sunyara communities, which went viral on social media.
