President of India Draupadi Murmu approved a special provision for issuing Overseas Citizenship of India (OIC) cards to seventh generation people of Indian origin in Mauritius. This step has been taken to reconnect the Mauritius citizens of Indian origin with their ancestral land. President Murmu made this announcement. The Government of India will support the Government of Mauritius in redeveloping the sacred Ganga pond complex as a religious, cultural and tourism centre. The President said that in the last few weeks, our Prime Ministers have launched payment systems through UPI and RuPay cards in India and Mauritius.
