Meerut, 19 September (HS). Divisional Commissioner Selva Kumari J. said that joint patrolling should be done for railway security. Verification of people living near the railway track should be done and information should be shared with the concerned police station.
On Thursday, a divisional review meeting of law and order was held by Commissioner Selva Kumari J. and IG Nachiketa Jha with all DMs and SSPs in the Commissioner Auditorium. The Divisional Commissioner said that a list of legal taxi stands should be made available. Action should be taken for the smooth operation of e-rickshaws. In view of the heavy rainfall, SDRF and NDRF were instructed to remain alert. He asked the concerned officer to do joint patrolling for railway security, verify the people living around the railway track and share information with the concerned police station. He did a divisional review of Cow Slaughter Act, Goonda Act, Gangster Act, murder, robbery, dacoity, crime against women, kidnapping, POCSO Act etc.
The IG said that security arrangements should be made to ensure that the upcoming festivals are conducted peacefully and safely. Action should be taken against new traditions. A meeting should be held with the organizers and strict action should be taken against those who make mischievous statements on festivals. Necessary arrangements should be made for the safety of women in the pandal. Before idol immersion, there should be arrangements for lighting, CCTV, drone cameras, divers, double barricading on the ghats. Additional Commissioner Jasjit Kaur, District Magistrate Meerut Deepak Meena, SSP Vipin Tada, Joint Magistrate Narayani Bhatia etc. were present on this occasion.
