Talking about body shaming in the film industry, Shalini Pandey said, “I faced body shaming at that time. Also, I was new and being from the South, I didn't understand the language and my manager at that time was taking advantage of my innocence and I was constantly trying to understand what people wanted from me.
Shalini further said that she had to face a lot of body shaming at that time. Being a player, my body was athletic. Even now people embarrass me.
I ran away from home to pursue acting
Along with this, Shalini Pandey revealed that she ran away from home for acting. My father wanted me to do engineering. I tried, but I couldn't do it and my father did not agree to let me act. I tried to convince my father for four years and finally decided to run away. It sounds like a joke now, but I ran away because it was a really tough time.
Those boys eventually became my family
When I finally reached Mumbai, I had no one to help me. Though I have two friends living in the city, for some reason I couldn't stay at their place. So I had to share a room with the boys. Later, those boys eventually became my family.
