Recently, a tragic incident happened with the famous Bengali cinema actress Payal Mukherjee. The actress was returning home in her car late at night when a bike rider attacked her on the middle of the road. After the attack, the actress immediately went live on Facebook and informed about the incident and asked for help.
The incident is said to have happened on Friday evening. Bengali actress Payal was passing through Kolkata's Lake Avenue in her car, when a biker tried to stop her car. When the actress did not stop the car, the attackers punched her and broke the glass of her car and forcibly stopped the car near Jodhpur Park. While leaving, they threatened and abused the actress.
The actress went live on Facebook and asked for help
After the incident, Payal Mukherjee came on Facebook Live and cried and pleaded for help. The actress cried while showing the broken glass of her car on Facebook Live. She came live and asked where is the safety of women on the streets of Kolkata.
The actress told that the bike rider was following her and asking her to open the window of her car, but when she did not do so, he hit the glass of the car and broke the glass, due to which the actress suffered a lot of injuries on her body. After the actress went live on Facebook, many people tagged Kolkata Police and pleaded for help. Kolkata Police immediately took action and reached the spot. Policemen on duty in Jodhpur Park area have arrested the bike rider.
The accused accused the actress
Kolkata Police told Aaj Tak that when the accused bikeman was arrested, he told a different story. According to the biker, the actress hit his bike while crossing Lake Avenue Road. When he tried to stop the actress in anger, she did not stop the vehicle. He hit the glass to stop the car, which broke the glass. The arrested accused has been identified as MR Arasan, Junior Commissioned Officer of Kolkata Command Hospital.
Following the incident, actress Payal Mukherjee filed a written complaint at the Tollygunge police station against 39-year-old M R Arasan under sections 126(1) (attempt to robbery), 324(2) (attempt to cause hurt), 351(1) (attempt to cause hurt) of the IPC.
