Pawan Singh, Nishant Kumar and 10 other leaders will be called ‘Honourable’ from today. They will be sworn in to the Legislative Council.

Today is a big and historic day in the politics of Bihar. Huge enthusiasm is being seen from the political circles of the state to the fans of Bhojpuri cinema. Newly elected member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and powerstar of Bhojpuri films Pawan Singh will formally become ‘Honourable’ today. A total of 10 newly elected members, including Pawan Singh and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar, will take oath of membership of the Upper House in a special ceremony to be organized in the main auditorium of the sub-building (Annex) of Bihar Legislative Council. After this ceremony, Bihar Legislative Council is going to get new faces and new energy.

8 new faces are reaching the House for the first time, young enthusiasm in politics

In this biennial and by-election of Bihar Legislative Council, all the 10 candidates elected from the assembly quota had already won unopposed. The most special thing about the swearing-in ceremony going on today is that out of the 10 members taking oath, 8 are leaders who are crossing the threshold of the House for the first time. Among these, State Health Minister Nishant Kumar, who is entering electoral politics for the first time from JDU, and Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh from BJP remain the center of attraction. With the entry of both the young leaders, a new political equation will be seen in the House.

These veterans of NDA and opposition will get new responsibility

In this election, NDA and opposition parties had placed their bets on many prominent and grassroots faces to solve their social and regional equations. Prominent leaders who took oath today include senior JDU leader Lalan Prasad (who has been elected to the vacant seat of Nitish Kumar), BJP’s Anil Thakur and Shivrani. On behalf of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, a very close and vocal leader of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, will also take oath as a member of the Upper House today. Apart from this, Ashraf Ansari, an old loyal soldier of late Ram Vilas Paswan from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) quota, will also join the list of honorable from today. Strict arrangements have been made for security and preparations in the Legislative Council complex located in Patna for this program to be held at 4 pm.
