Paul Alexander dies after artificial respiration for 70 years in an iron box

Velepol Alexander, who was living in an 'iron lung' i.e. iron box for the last 70 years, has passed away. At the age of 78, Alexander was known as Paul. Paul Alexander contracted polio in 1952 at the age of six. He was admitted to a hospital in Texas for treatment of polio. Apart from polio, Alexander's lungs were damaged and he was kept in an iron box with an 'iron lung'. He spent his entire life in this box. This is why the world calls him 'Man in the Iron Lung'. On March 11, he breathed his last inside this machine.

Paul Alexander, born in 1946, was paralyzed from the neck down due to polio. He couldn't even breathe. 600 pounds of iron was placed inside the machine for breathing. It is a type of ventilator in which the body is inside the machine while only the face is outside. At that time, machines like iron boxes were used for respiratory patients. This machine proved to be a boon especially for those people whose lungs had stopped functioning. He lived for 7 decades by breathing with the help of this machine. Built in 1928, Paul was the owner of this machine. Despite getting a second machine, Paul decided to stay in the first machine. Although his lungs were tired, he could still breathe with the help of this machine. His life was organized according to the machine.

Never giving up in any situation was the basic mantra of his life. Paul's bravery and adventurousness is an inspiration to those who get frustrated over small things. While in the iron lung machine, he completed his education and also taught children. Paul's brother Philip announced the death and thanked everyone. Who donated for the treatment of his brother. He thanked everyone for making the last years of his life stress-free.
