Patanjali menu. Sale of 14 products stopped whose license was canceled

Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna's company Patanjali Ayurved Limited told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it has stopped selling 14 products whose manufacturing licences were cancelled by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April this year.

The company told a bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Sandeep Mehta that it has directed 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw these products. Media platforms were also directed to withdraw any advertisements of these 14 products. The bench ordered Patanjali Ayurveda Limited to file an affidavit within two weeks to inform whether the request to remove the advertisement to social media moderators has been accepted and whether the advertisements of these 14 products have been withdrawn.

The bench adjourned the matter for further hearing till July 30. The Supreme Court is hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has accused Patanjali of spreading propaganda against the Covid vaccination campaign and modern medicines. Earlier, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority told the Supreme Court that the licenses of 14 products of Patanjali and Divya Pharmacy have been canceled with immediate effect.
