New Delhi, June 3 (HS). Australia's Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins is set to play in the second season of Major League Cricket (MLC). 31-year-old Cummins will play for the San Francisco Unicorns, Cummins is expected to fill the leadership void in the Unicorns after the retirement of Aaron Finch.
Earlier, Cummins led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the final of IPL 2024. The Australian captain has also played in the Big Bash. Cummins has been playing with Australia and Sunrisers since mid-February. The three-week MLC stint, which begins 5 days after the end of the World Cup, will culminate a difficult cricket journey for Cummins, which he started with the tour of New Zealand in February.
Cummins will join fellow Australians Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Spencer Johnson, Steve Smith and Jake Fraser McGurk for the second season of the MLC.
The second season of the MLC will kick off with a double-header on July 5. In a rematch of last season's final, defending champions MI New York and Seattle Orcas will lock horns in the opening clash in Morrisville, followed by Texas Super Kings taking on LA Knight Riders in a home match at the Grand Prairie Stadium.
