Ranchi, 19 February (HS). Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Monday inaugurated the new office of Passport Seva Kendra in Namkum. He said that passport office plays an important role in the economic progress of a country. Now our economic activities are not limited to just within the country and have become global. The role of youth has increased significantly in the ever-changing environment. They want to gain experience and compete at the international level. This regional office located in Ranchi will play an important role in this direction.
The Governor said that this passport office will provide service for making passports through mobile vehicles. This initiative of this office towards relieving people from difficulties and providing them facilities is quite praiseworthy. Sharing his experience, he said how due to the absence of a passport office in Coimbatore, people of the surrounding areas had to face difficulties.
The Governor said that within a week of the opening of the passport office, about 25 thousand applications were received. With the opening of the passport office there, industrial activities intensified and the business of places like Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode etc. grew rapidly at the international level. Expressing hope, he said that with the opening of this passport office, industrial and business activities will accelerate in Jharkhand, education will be promoted and the pace of development in Jharkhand will accelerate. On this occasion, he also provided passports to the applicants on a symbolic basis.
